Together with his many friends, we were saddened to learn of Roy Dommett’s death on Monday evening and our thoughts go out to Marguerite and his family. The Morris world has for many years had the pleasure of Roy's research and teachings and his legacy will live on for many years to come.
There are so many of us who have been sharing fond memories of one the most influential characters in “the revival” (though he disliked the phrase!) that the next few Ring Publications may be bumper issues. Several Morris teams will also have lost one of their favourite honorary members.
There will be a celebration of Roy’s life on Saturday the 21st November at 11:00 at Christ Church, Church Crookham. Musicians and dancers are welcome - the intention is that there will be dancing taking place - and afterwards at a local venue to be arranged when a better idea of participants is known.
His son Michael needs to know numbers at the latest by Friday 13th November; please help the planning by letting him know as soon as possible at Michael.D.Dommett [at] carillionplc.com
A great man who will be sadly missed.
